ACAO is rooted in traditions and as such we organize 3 festivals every year.
- The Multicultural Day Festival
- The African Day on the Hill
- The African Food Festival
These festivals are used to bring people together but also to teach our young ones about the African cultures, music, dance, and fashion.
On February 15, 2020, people of all kinds and from diverse communities were entertained to authentic and delicious African cuisine, music, dancing fashion show and more. Over 500 people gathered at the Sir John A MacDonald’s Building across the Parliament Hills. This annual black history month event would go down as the most well attended celebration of culture and traditions ever since we started in 2017. The event received extensive media coverage. It was unfortunate the pandemic prevented us from gathering again this year.
