Canadians of African descent need a place the symbolizes their struggle and our shared promise. We need a place that serves as hub to bring us together to pursue programs that will advance our causes. A place that pays homage to our great ancestors whose toils and contribution has made Canada what it is today. From the days of the No.2 Construction Battalion, Jackie Robinson to many before that, African Canadians have contributed immensely to Canada’s forward march. An African Centre in the nation’s capital will tell our stories and boost tourism. ACAO is working with partners to ensure this becomes a reality.
