Democratic & Civic Engagement Committee

We know how it feels to be excluded from the table. It is highly imperative for us to stop trusting others to represent our interests without our presence. This committee strives to educate people on the importance of civic responsibilities and representation. It seeks to promote civic engagement and democratic participation by supporting individuals and organizations who champion the causes ACAO values. Specifically, this committee is charged with:

Promotion of civic (democratic) education and engagement.
Advocating for policies that seek to build bridges and create equal opportunity.
Establishing strategic relationships and partnerships with governments and successful “non-African” associations.
Developing and/or influencing an African Policy in Canada.
