Black health has suffered a decline in ways that cannot be explained due to the lack of race-based data. As well as providing resources to the Black community, this committee pushes for race-based data to better serve the African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) community.
The rates of various issues such as mental health, diabetes, sickle cell and HIV are increasing in our communities. However the lack our resources, stigma and racism found in the health care system present numerous barriers preventing individuals from seeking help.
This committee works directly with health care workers and the ACB community to overcome these barriers and provide the resources needed to ensure total health.
